We have begun to do "Brain Boosters" when the class comes in from last recess. It alternates between math and language "mini-assessments"...what do the kids already know? What have we mastered? What do we need to learn? I noticed that quite a few students could work on their multiplication facts. It is not part of the curriculum per se but it does impact on their abilities to solve problems quickly and efficiently. Check out the homework page for some 'extra' practice with multiplication. Make it fun and not a chore...practice makes perfect! Don't forget to read for at least 20 minutes too!
