"Pi is the symbol in mathematics for the ratio of the circumference of a circle
to its diameter. It is an irrational number and will continue indefinitely
without a sequence repeating in a pattern. Pi was chosen as the Greek letter to
represent the number 3.14… because the letter in Greek, pronounced like the
letter “P,” stands for perimeter. It was first used in 1706 by William Jones and
has been tested by several renowned mathematicians, such as Archimedes. Pi Day
occurs on March 14 and celebrates the history and origin of Pi" (Courtesy of Discovery Education).
I found a fun video about Pi Day. Enjoy!
I hope you are all enjoying March Break! See you on Monday!
