The following is the group problem that we worked on solving today.
Miss Hodgins would like to decorate the bulletin board in the class for Valentine’s Day. She would like to use construction paper to cover the inside and a border for the outside. The dimensions of the bulletin board are the following: 3.5m long and 150cm tall.
How much construction paper will she need to
cover the inside?
How much border will she need to go around?
If the new border cost $4.00 for a package of
100m, how many packages will she need to buy? How much will that cost?
